Chimi Churri draws inspiration from influences such as Santana, Sgt. Garcia, Manu Chao and other famed genre artists to create an individual composition that is unmatched throughout the musical landscape. The lyrics of Chimi Churri tell stories of the trivial as well as the moving. Life experince meets social criticism proclaimed through the sentimental and soft but at the same time protesting and rocklike voice of frontman Gustavo.
Definitely no stereotypes but completely individualized songs whose rich repertoire reaches from rock through pop, funk and salsa to ska and reggae and yet forms a moody whole and makes Chimi Churri an interesting and diversified listening experience. The music creates an atmosphere of latin holidays and nights danced away in the beach bars of Rio and Havana or the gloomy, smokey clubs of Buenos Aires.
Good atmosphere? Everyone is moving their bodies? That’s definitely Phonkonfused playing their “Skanky-Beat” live on stage. And their style is “konfused” in deed: The band is always a source of much surprise and in no way just another ska-band.
For them, no stage is too small, no location too big and the name says it all: phonkonfused – enjoy or phonk off!

11.30 p.m.: After Show Party at Club Lehmann. Adm. free für Festival Guests who visited the Concert.
City plan-cut out:
